Community Involvement

The Jersey Shore Financial Group, under the guidance of Rick McGarry, has sponsored and run four annual golf outings as fundraisers for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a national organization committed to curing a variety of deadly blood cancers. Cumulatively these events have raised more than $40,000.

More recently, Rick McGarry reports that one of the Financial Representatives in the Office won the “Network Idol” contest at the 2005 Annual Meeting of Northwestern Mutual. This winner, Kristin Helm, won the distinction of donating $10,000 to her favorite charity. Rick explains, “Kristin was given the chance to earmark this money, which was a prize awarded by the Home Office of the Network, to any charitable organization. She chose another cancer fund.”

Kristin elected that “Rock Against Cancer” be the recipient of this financial gift. The photo shown here is of her awarding the check.

Rick McGarry says, “We are all very proud of Kristin and are grateful to her for directing her talents to such a worthwhile cause.”
